![]() ![]() ![]() Ritual would eventually be acquired by casual game developer MumboJumbo, LLC in 2007, with their last game release before the merger being the abysmal SiN Episodes: Emergence in 2006. The company would go on to create several other well-received action titles over the course of its decade-long existence, among them SiN, Heavy Metal FAKK 2, and Star Trek: Elite Force II. Though made by a new development company, Hipnotic Interactive (later Ritual Entertainment) was composed of developers with a large amount of prior experience in the genre, with its members having worked on such FPS titles as Duke Nukem 3D, Final Doom, and Rise of the Triad. While it is mainly single-player in focus, the mission pack also includes a single level that is intended for use as a deathmatch map, HIPDM1. Like previous games in id Software's stable, the story in Scourge of Armagon is little more than setup for the intense first-person action that is the heart of the Quake franchise. The game takes place directly after the defeat of Shub-Niggurath, the enemy, at the end of the first game, with the player on a mission to prevent Armagon, Quake's Lieutenant, from invading Earth. Please let me know in the comments if there is anything better you think I could do, or if you spot anything in the guide that needs to be fixed.Overview One of the first "floating platform" deathmatch maps: HIPDM1.ĭeveloped by Hipnotic Interactive and released in early 1997, Scourge of Armagon is the first official expansion pack released for id Software's popular first-person shooter Quake. A few maps I wanted to optmize the routes to minimalize doubling back into areas and I hope I have succeeded. Thank you for using this guide, I hope I have made everything as clear and precise as possible. Blast him with everything you got, you should have plenty of ammo from previous secrets and all the ammo you spawn into on this map! Honestly Just circle strafe around him, you have so much room in his boss arena that he'll never make it to you. The boss is fairly easy, even easier than Shub-Niggurath from the base game of Quake. One achievement you can only obtain on Nightmare difficulty, like mentioned before. The last two achievements are to complete the rest of the mission pack. In a scripted sequence, the rift closes and a Teleporter is revealed, taking the player back to Command HQ. In the level's center is the dimensional rift that the creature intends to use to invade Earth. It is here that the final battle with Armagon himself takes place. In the dark room you can see a faint door, run to it and it will open which triggers the secret.īonus: Jump down and to the right and it will have a jump pad in the corner to get the silver key.Īrmagon's Lair is the final level of The Rift. Going up you will find a Laser Cannon, Shells, and and Nails as well. When you land where the Red Armor is, run into the button on the wall to trigger an elevator. If you don't know how to strafe jump you can technically do it by just jumping and turning a bit, I would quicksave first if you don't know how. Here we are going to strafe jump around over the lava and onto the little platform you can see with the Red Armor. We are going to run to the edge of the metal walkway and jump up on the railing. This secret is technically being done backwards but it will save you a small amount of time! You won't get the secret until you get to the end and open up the door because we are doing it backwards. Back to the metal walkway with the Quad Damage on it. Secret 5 of 6We're going to go back up the stairs that we just left from Secret 3 of 6. ![]()
